Welcome to the website of The European Competition Lawyers Forum
The European Competition Lawyers Forum (ECLF) is a group of the leading practitioners in competition law from law firms across the European Union. It was founded in 1994 at the suggestion of certain officials within the European Commission's DG Competition to provide a forum for senior practitioners and officials from DG Competition to engage in an open dialogue on the topical competition law issues of the day and to discuss areas for reform.
ECLF meetings allow members and senior Commission officials to exchange views and experiences concerning the application of European competition law. The ECLF, also from time to time, forms working parties on particular issues of interest and submits papers to contribute to the debate on topical issues. Membership is open to all partners in law firms who are expert practitioners in European competition law.

Events
Members of ECLF working group on Horizontal co-operation agreements met with Donncadh Woods and his team from DG-Competition, on 15 June in Brussels, to debate issues relating to the draft guidelines. The ECLF response to the consultation will be submitted to the Commission on 25 June.

Plenary meeting with DG-Competition officials | 11/03/2009
The individual sessions included discussion of:
(i) the European Commission’s public consultation on the operation of the EC Merger Regulation with Carles Esteva Mosso, Claude Rakovsky and Nadia Calvino;
(ii) the reform of the Horizontal Cooperation Guidelines and the Specialisation and R&D Bloc Exemptions with Donncadh Woods.
Round table meeting with DG-Competition officials | 09/10/2008

(i) the Commission's priorities for 2009 with Philip Lowe;
(ii) the Commission's review of the functioning of Regulation 1/2003 with Carles Esteva Mosso;
(iii) merger control with Nadia Calvino;
